Sonnet #5

On Occupy Edmonton. @DwiTrevor

Desire to change world in positive ways
Was taken by protestors to extreme:
They built up an enthusiastic team.
But seeing the actual play-by-plays,
The project burst apart in a huge blaze.
The expiration of this grand pipedream
Was presaged by a strange, leaderless scheme,
And knowledge that we were hippy cliches.

Many just wanted to talk on the news,
As they threw out any who tried to lead.
These rebels claimed they'd non-partisan views,
But to have no stance is not what we need.
I think everyone who picks up on clues,
In a month no longer carried the creed.
